Synthesis Not Resolution?
Norman Thomas - "The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism, but under the name of liberalism, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program until one day America will be a socialist nation without ever knowing how it happened."
World Government. How in the world could someone hope to gain world governance? With all of the differences and conflicts? Marxism would say it is through the dialectic. Dialectic? What is that? The Dialectic is an idea of Marx that two opposing forces come to a head and merge into an new line of movement which continues until an opposing force confronts this and creates another new line of movement - creating forward momentum - evolving. Here is a quote from a student of Marxism, Julian Huxley, that reveals the powerful ideal of the idea of the dialectic. (Quote from UNESCO: It’s Purpose and It’s Philosophy) {UNESCO = United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization}
“...at the moment, two opposing philosophies of life confront each other from the West and from the East and not only impede the achievement of unity but threaten to become the foci of actual conflict... You may categorize the two philosophies as two super-nationalisms ; or as individualism versus collectivism; or as the American versus the Russian way of life; or as capitalism versus communism; or as Christianity versus Marxism; or in half a dozen other ways. The fact of their opposition remains and the further fact that round each of them are crystallizing the lives and thoughts and political aspirations of hundreds of millions of human beings. Can this conflict be avoided, these opposites be reconciled, this antitheses be resolved in a higher syntheses? I believe not only that this can happen, but that, through the inexorable dialectic of evolution, it must happen.”
Here is an example closer to home.
Carrol Quigley - “The argument that the two parties should represent opposed ideals and policies, one, perhaps of the Right and the other of the Left, is a foolish idea acceptable only to doctrinaire and academic thinkers. Instead, the two parties should be almost identical, so that the American people can ‘throw the rascal out’ at any election without leading to any profound or extensive shifts in policy.”
Carrol here is saying the two political parties should in essence be identical (Right and Left collide creating one solidified policy) You decide for yourself if America has reached this or not. This idea of unity sounds great, but what voices are being stilled for this to occur?
There are many who are pushing towards the goal of world government. It is reaching far and wide. Many approve of such an idea, and indeed it sounds sublime (as does the ideal of Communism/Socialism). If you want to know the full extent of our progress, look into the ’92 Earth Summit.
Tom DeWeese - “Here the ideas were officially presented to world leaders that all government on every level needed to be transformed into top-down control over housing, food production, energy, water, private property, education, population control, gun control, transportation, social welfare, medical care, and literally every aspect of our lives. To get the full picture, add to these the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child and the convention on the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women, both of which create UN mandates on abortion, child rearing, and government interference on families.”
Does that sound anything like communism? Government control over property, housing, food, water, energy, education, how many children you can have, what job you get, how you live your life, etc. World government is a lovely idea, something I would enjoy but...
In the words of Winston Churchill, “Never give in, never give in, never, never, never - - in nothing great or small, large or petty - - never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense.”
World governance would be a good goal, but NOT at the expense of convictions, honor, virtue, or freedom.
John Adams - “Have you ever found in history, one single example of a nation thoroughly corrupted that was afterwards restored to virtue?... And without virtue, there can be no political liberty...”
Make no mistake. A vote for communism is a vote for dictatorship upon which all freedoms are stripped. The sustaining goal of communism is world governance and the governing tool of world government is communism. You can support a one-world government, but know what you are voting for. Know what you are voting against and know what you are losing through your support.
Francis Schaeffer - "Something has happened in the last sixty years. The freedom that once was founded on a Biblical consensus and a Christian ethos has now become autonomous freedom, cut loose from all restraint. Here we have the world spirit of our age - autonomous man setting himself up as God, in defiance of the knowledge and the moral and spiritual truth which God has given. Here is the reason why we have a moral breakdown in every area of life. The titanic freedoms which we once enjoyed have been cut loose from their Christian restraints and are becoming a force of destruction leading to chaos. And when this happens, there really are very few alternatives. All morality becomes relative, law becomes arbitrary, and society moves toward disintegration. In personal and social life, compassion is swallowed up by self-interest... when the memory of the Christian consensus which gave us freedom within the Biblical form is increasingly forgotten, a manipulating authoritarianism will tend to fill the vacuum. At this point the words 'right' and 'left' will make little difference. They are only two roads to the same end; the results are the same. An elite, an authoritarianism as such, will gradually force form on society so that it will not go into chaos - and most people will accept it."
