Feminist, Feminazi, Feminoid.
The common online definition of ‘Feminism’ is “a collection of movements aimed at defining, establishing, and defending equal political, economic, and social rights for women.” Before I start in on this article, let me make something clear. I hold nothing wrong with this definition or people who adhere to this definition. If it is equality of political, economic, and social rights then I am all for it. If that is all there is to it.
I contend that there are many ‘feminists’ who that is all there is to it. And I support them. I also contend that there is a vast amount of feminists who take it to the extreme.
I once heard these three terms defined. Feminists, Feminoids, Feminazi’s. Feminists want to be seen as equals to males. Feminazi’s want to be seen as superior to males. Feminoid’s hate men and want them to go away. Feminoids and feminazis I have a problem with. Some feminists do not understand quite what they are pushing and thus take it too far but it is more of a misunderstanding of the facts (or lack of facts). Let me explain this. Recently I read a text book upon which statistics were shown as how females are paid less for the same jobs as men.
Jobs Woman’s Salary as Percentage of Men’s
Construction 79%
Management 77%
Farming 84%
Maintenance 98%
Education 79%
Protective services 70%
Sales 63%
Architects 84%
There looks to be a disparagement. Unless you think critically about this. (1) It doesn’t say if they are working the same jobs, just the same occupational area. For instance, a secretary would not get paid as much as a CEO, and not that females cannot be CEO’s, far from it, but there are more male CEOs in general than females, this can account for some of the discrepancies. (2) It does not take into account the percentages of females in the occupation compared to males. This does make an impact upon the discrepancies because if there are more men than women then there will be statistically more men higher up the business ladder than females (in the least outnumbering them) so of course the percentages would be off. (3) It does not take into account standard deviations (that is the percentage of error that would occur naturally in any study). For instance the Maintenance at 98% would be well in the range of purely natural error. This chart is very misleading, but any feminist who saw this would say, See! See! It is not equal! Females need to be treated equally!
I am not saying sexism doesn’t happen. What I am saying is we need to be careful that this equality doesn’t go to the other extreme upon which men become the victims of sexism.
Now beware of the feminazi/feminoid agenda. In a few words, the agenda is free abortions, freedom from husbands, freedom from fathers, and alimony.
Simone De Beauvoir - “We don’t believe that any woman should have this choice. No woman should be authorized to stay home to raise her children... precisely because if there is such a choice, too many women will make that one.” (Abortion agenda)
Phyllis Schafly - “The feminists have carried on a long-running campaign to make husbands and fathers unnecessary and irrelevant.” (anti-family)
Robin Morgan (who said marriage is a slavery-like practice) - “we can’t destroy the inequalities between men and women until we destroy marriage.” (anti-family)
Phyllis Schafly - “As divorces became easy to get, the feminists suddenly did a total about-face in their demand that fathers share equally in child care... arguing that only a mother is capable of providing their proper care and upbringing, and a father’s only function is to provide a paycheck.” (alimony)
“The National Organization for Women (NOW) lobbies for feminist... the NOW agenda supports all abortion rights, including partial birth abortion, gay and lesbian rights, worldwide legalization of prostitution, and unrestricted access to pornography in libraries. According to the guide, “NOW revels in attacking Christianity and traditional values, conservative ideas and men.”
